About Day Law
Caitlin Day Watters is licensed to practice in the State of Arizona. She was born and raised in the Grand Canyon State and worked as a civil litigator at the defense firm, Rusing Lopez & Lizardi before practicing on her own. There she worked on a wide range of cases from personal injury to State of Arizona defense cases, and contract issues and was involved in numerous civil jury trials.
Before joining the private world, Caitlin Day Watters was a Deputy County Attorney for the Pima County Attorney’s Office. Caitlin worked in the felony Domestic Violence, Community Protection Bureau, and Animal Welfare Units and tried dozens of cases including twelve jury trials and over 25 bench trials as a prosecutor. She handled drug and misconduct with weapon offenses while also prosecuting domestic violence offenders.
In her own practice she has shifted her focus to criminal defense and been successful in numerous jury trials. Throughout her career she has first chaired over 16 criminal jury trials and defended dozens of clients in the courtroom.
As a Lead Law Clerk at the Pima County Juvenile Court, Caitlin worked closely with judges by assisting with legal research and writing under advisement rulings. While in law school, Caitlin was a legal extern on the Judiciary Committee for Senator Flake in Washington D.C., where she assisted Senator Flake with research projects regarding issues facing Arizona, specifically immigration, opiates, human trafficking across the border, and environmental issues.
